Well, what a great day at Newby Hall. The weather held off, nearly, and we had a good turnout. Many thanks to all who came to see us and bought tickets for the tombola. All money raised this year is going to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. As always I was judging Pride and Joy and I have to say the standard for this goes up and up. Congratulations to all the entrants and particularly to Ian Walker who won the Diamond class with his beautiful XJ8.
We’re now in the final throws of organising Picnic in the Park at Chatsworth on Sunday August 10th. As always you pay the normal entry fee and an additional £2 to park with all the other Jags. There are 2 competitions, Jennifer Parsons trophy for best car of the day, and the Gerald Rawnsley trophy for best car belonging to a South Yorkshire member.
Andrew Jeffries of Hatfields of Sheffield will be bringing his racing XJ6 and a special edition of the new XF.
This is always a great day, and we throw an open invitation to any region to come and join us. If you want to park together give me a ring on 07775 598890 or email me on andygawley@gmail.com.
